Do you remember seeing John Belushi doing his Joe Cocker routine on Saturday Night Live and all the praise he got because, as everyone said, "he nailed it." Well, this release isn't John Belushi...it's the real deal. You get a chance to see the man that inspired John to do that routine. This show comes to you from 1981 and it was filmed in Italy and, what more can really be said, it's Joe Cocker...a young Joe Cocker...taking center stage and holding the attention of his audience. >From the first note to the very last, that audience belongs to him, there's no question about it. While most fans will probably appreciate this release as a whole, I'm more drawn to the two obvious reasons for watching this release...and that would be Joe's performance of "You Are So Beautiful" and "With A Little Help From My Friends." That's Joe at his most emotional.

This release also features a bio, a discography and a short little quiz, which is interesting...especially if you get a wrong answer. Bottom line here...it's a classic Joe Cocker performance. The man, the music, the emotion. As the back of the DVD states, it's "a unique opportunity to see a unique performer creating a unique sound." You can't really say it any better than that!
