GORGOROTH
Black Mass Krakow 2004 DVD
(MVD)
by Chris Forbes

Holy shit is the easily one of the best DVD'S I have ever seen. The camera work on this is godly and the band are as tight as Nina Hartley's ass! The band have an incredible stage set up with a killer light show, goat heads, pyro and even naked people. The place where they flim this is filled with metalheads and it is a huge place and its packed to rafters so to speak. The band rip through a intense set of black metal and like I said the camera work is top notch and the lights and everything just looks incredible. You also get some clips from another concert. This gets an A plus from me. Easily one of the best black metal bands making the rounds now. Info: http://www.mvdb2b.com

PUNKS NOT DEAD
Self Titled DVD
(Vans)
by Chris Forbes

This is an awesome DVD with tons of old footage from all the punk bands back in the day. Black Flag, UK SUBS, Minor Threat, Misfits are just a few as there is literally a whos who of the early punk/hardcore movement on this. Where the guy got the footage from I have no idea, but any old school fan of hardcore will do backflips over this. You also get over 2 hours of extras and they include videos, behind the scenes stuff and much more. This is easily the best DVD i have even seen on hardcore and if somebody asked me what the scene was back in the day. I would just show them this. Info: http://www.purevolume.com

THE DALI DIMENSION
Decoding The Mind Of A Genius
(MVD Visual)
by Chris Forbes

This is not even a music DVD so I had no idea why this would be sent to David and I watched some of this, but I admit not all of it. This is a DVD about a guy named Salvador Dali who was a painter and this delps into stuff about his painting and things. For me I just found this boring as I am not a fan of paintings at all. I tried to watch this with an open mind and I will say some of his paintings were different and stuff, but this to me was just boring. Info: http://www.mvdb2b.com

MARILLION
Somewhere In London DVD
(Mvd Visual)
by Chris Forbes

This is a double DVD that was filmed over 2 nights in 2007 when the band played over there in London, England. I am by no means a fan of this band. I do respect the fact that they do have a very loyal fan base and I do think they are not bad for what they do, I just find their music quite boring. The 1st disc is the bands 1st night concert and disc 2 is some extra songs (I assume they changed the set list from day 1 to day 2). The video itself is well put together and I watched some of it and the crowd was big time into the band and the band seemed to really feed off the crowd and are very intense in their playing. This is either a band you love or hate and if you are a fan of the band, you'll want this as it clocks in at over 220 minutes so this will keep you satisfied for quite some time. THE 20TH CANNIBUS CUP DVD
Self Titled
(MVD Visual)

This is a video of all these people getting to together to judge the best pot in the world! I kid you not. I do not smoke pot, and never have and never will, but this was crazy watching all these different people from all over the place smoking different forms of pot from pretty much all over. Of course this does not take place in the US as I am sure the authorities would find out and arrest everybody. This was a cool video and I enjoyed it for what it was and I never knew pot could come in so many different forms. Info: http://www.mvdb2b.com

EARACHE 1986-2000 DVD
(Earache Records)
by Chris Forbes

You get 20 clips on this and any DVD that has Morbid Angel. Napalm Death, Carcass, Entombed, Godflesh, At The Gates, Brutal Truth, Vader, Bolt Thrower and others on it you know is gonna kill. Just watching this brought back memories of the underground scene, which was pretty close to being at it's peak back then. This is a killer DVD that puts all kinds of great clips under one roof. Get it. Info: http://www.mvdb2b.com

DECAPITATED
Human Dust DVD
(MVD Visual)
by Chris Forbes

This is one killer DVD. This has footage from their 1st show in 2002 and they also played an Ozzfest in 2002 and there is footage of that here as well. The sound quality is A plus and the band sound as tight a pair of spandex pants from the 80's. The band, if you don't know, play death metal in the vein of Vader and Immolation and they play with a fury of a charging bull. You also get some footage from a fest they played in 2004 and also 3 different videos and a video clip. This is one killer DVD. Info: http://www.mvdb2b.com

Caamora
"She"
(Metal Mind Productions)
By: Paul Autry

This is a rather impressive DVD. It's a rock opera that's based on the H. Rider Haggard novel, "She," which features themes about power, life, death, reincarnation, sexuality, and fate. Some of you may be familiar with the story of "She" by way of the 1965 Hammer Film with Ursula Andress, Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee. Caamora's "She" will take your breath away. It's impressive in every way, shape and form. The size and scope of this project is just mind blowing. It's mentioned in the bonus feature that this was two, three years in the making. The time, effort and dedication of the performers really paid off in the end. I mean, this is almost like watching a movie. The story is brought to life on the stage and for us home viewers, we get a little extra in the form of special effects. They add a little more pleasure to your viewing experience.

When you think rock opera...what comes to mind? "Tommy?" "The Wall?" "Operation: Mindcrime?" "(Music From) The Elder?" Well, maybe that last one is going a bit too far. Besides, it didn't really have a visual to go with it. Anyway, Caamora's "She" should be added to that list and...when it is added to that list...it should be placed close to the top. This is a brilliant, fantastic, epic, musical masterpiece. You can take that to the bank!
