Paul Autry Oh, my God...what is this? Someone deserves a swift kick in the pants for putting this one together because it's obvious that they don't know what they're doing. Let me explain...first of all, the selection of material doesn't really blend well together. Here's what shouldn't be on this release...Earth Wind & Fire's "Let's Groove," Haircut 100's "Boy Meets Girl" and The Bus Boys With "American Worker." Next up, there's a few artists on here who should be included, but, the choice of material was totally wrong. Perfect example is Men At Work. I've never really been a big fan of this band, but, I will admit that they put out some good songs for their time...only problem is, "Be Good Johnny" wasn't one of them. The same with Daryl Hall & John Oates. "One On One" is featured here and I could think of at least five other songs that would have been a better representation of what they were all about. Eddie Money's "I Think I'm In Love" and Billy Joel's "Pressure" were two good ones. Both artists had a lot of good songs out there and it might have been difficult to pick which one to use on this release. But, the two that were chosen seem to fit right in. No complaints there. The same with Fleetwood Mac...great band with a lot of great songs and "Gypsy" was the one that made it on to this release. Adam & The Ants is here with "Dog Eat Dog" and, again, I think he had better songs that could've been included. This one did absolutely nothing for me. Joe Jackson's "Breaking Us In Two" was a song that I remembered...in fact, I think it's the only song I remembered from this guy. So, no comment there. Since I'm not really a Santana fan, I can't really say anything about him except that "Nowhere To Run" is the song they decided to use. Now, I wouldn't go out and buy this DVD on my own, but, since it's now sitting in front of me, there's two good reasons why it will remain in my collection. The first being Ted Nugent's "Bound & Gagged." Hey, it's Ted Nugent...what more needs to be said? The other reason, and probably the main reason, why I'll keep this one is Juice Newton's video for "Love's Been A Little." Besides the fact that she's a very attractive woman, this video is a perfect example of what it was like when people made these things for fun. Poor Juice gets her leg caught in the car door, gets whacked by a crutch, falls off a mountain in a wheelchair and ends up in a full body cast and the man who did all this to her doesn't marry her. How can you not love this woman? Another complaint I have...and this is the kicker...with everything you can do on a DVD, it's rather disappointing that all you get here are the 13 videos. Why not put bio's of each artist on here or a list of albums and videos that they made...or something! Give people more for their money, why don't you! Hopefully, they'll do better when they release the next volume...here's some choices for you so you don't make the same mistake twice. Dexy's Midnight Runners with "Come On Eileen," Eddie Grant's "Electric Avenue" and "Relax" by Frankie Goes To Hollywood. There's three...if you need help with the other ten, you know where to find me. http://www.dreamcatcher-records.com
