"Dead Kennedys: The Early Years Live"
Target Video

By: Paul Autry

This 30 minute DVD features, as the title suggests, video footage of The Dead Kennedys from 1978 to 1981. For the people who have never seen this band live, such as myself, this is a good way to see what the band was like on stage. Songs like "California Uber Alles," "The Man With The Dogs," "Let's Lynch The Landlord" and "Holiday In Cambodia" are presented here. There's a band bio and you can also see what the former band members have been up to since the band called it a day, which was a rather interesting read. There's some stuff in there that I didn't know. But, then again, I haven't really followed this band too much and my experience with their music is somewhat limited. So, for someone who might be a first time fan, I would suggest picking up a copy of this release for the simple fact that it's a good introduction to the band. I felt they could have added a little more to it. But, I was satisfied with what I saw and I'm quite sure that a second release will pop up sooner or later. http://www.musicvideodistributors.com
