Iggy & The StoogesCreem Presents: Iggy & The Stooges Live In Detroit It's amazing to me that one show, one event, can become such a huge part of a bands history. That's the case with the show that's featured on this release. The band was set to play a gig in Detroit. It was to be the event of the season. But, a blackout caused the show to be called off. However...eleven days later, Iggy & The Stooges took the stage and, wouldn't you know it, the show was recorded and now you canview it in the privacy of your own home. What's great about this show is the fact that there's nothing special here. By that, I mean, there's nothing here that will distract you from the music. No big stage show, no explosions, nothing falling from the sky. It's simply Iggy & The Stooges pouring everything they have into each song. It's a raw, visual treat that any true fan is sure to appreciate. You're treated to a fourteen song set that includes tunes such as "I Wanna Be Your Dog," "Funhouse," "No Fun," "1969," "Dirt" and "TV Eye" to name a few. The highlight here, at least for me, was when Iggy invited the audience up on stage while the band tore through two songs. Now that's a sight to see. That's what I would call showing some appreciation to your fans and it's something that a lot of bands wouldn't do in this day and age. Now, as someone with a short attention span, I wasn't too impressed with the featured in store performance. A single camera does not hold my attention and I don't care who we're talking about. It was cool to watch at first, but, I lost interest with the lack of camera movement. But, that's just me. I look at it this way, if you're a fan, you don't need a review to convince you to check this out. All you really need me for is to let you know that it's out there, which is what I just did. So, my job is done. All that's left is for me to point you in the right direction. Check out the links below and consider yourself pointed! http://www.creemmagazine.com |
