The FrontlineThe Frontline DVD Review Not exactly a fast paced movie here and the plot is rather thin. We don't know why James was in a mental hospital. But, that's where we first meet him. He's being released and once he's a free man, he goes back to reunite with his former girlfriend, Marion, a DJ with a drug habit. He finds her with a needle in her arm and he helps her kick the habit, which she does. She's happy, she's clean and all of a sudden, she's dead. James and Marion's father take a cop hostage because he's the one who killed her, they tie him up, he escapes, grabs the gun, James talks him into playing Russian roulette, the bad cop pulls the trigger twice, no bullet, James talks him into taking his turn and the bad guy blows his own head off and James goes back to the mental institution, end of story. With a better budget and a little more story detail, this could've been a better movie. But, I guess the real catch here is the fact that this movie was made on a small budget and with very little resources. So, for not having a lot to work with, I guess you can say it was a good movie for what it was. I was suprised that the acting, for the most part, was pretty good as well. There's also some deleted scenes, the trailer, a still gallery and an interview with the director. So, you get a little more than the movie here, which was rather cool. I'm not sure if anyone would actually wanna own this release. However, if you've got nothing better to do, it's worth watching at least once. |
