The Music Discovery Experience
"Interactive CD Rom, Level 1"

By: Paul Autry

In all honesty, I'm not quite sure what to make of this release. At first glance, it might seem like a bright idea, something fresh, something new. I spent some time checking it out and, in all honesty, the thrill of discovery didn't last too long. I became bored with this release in an exceptionally short amount of time. True, there's a lot of music to be found on this release. There's 677 song samples, which range from a few sections to the entire song, from pretty much every stle of music you can imagine. From that point of view, that's a good thing. But, no matter what you're looking for in terms of music, a simple and quick online search will point you in the right direction. I've spent hours on certain web pages just browsing through artists that I've never heard of and, yes, I found a few that I actually enjoyed and some of them I've even written about. As a matter of fact, I found the Music Discovery web page more useful and informative than this release. I spent more time browing around on their page than I did playing around with this release. But, then again, it all depends on what your personal taste is. Some people might not wanna spend a lot of time online. For those people, this release might be the perfect tool. But, for me, give me an internet search and a web page and I'm content. http://www.musicdiscoveries.com
