John Wetton"Amorata" This is the first ever DVD release by John Wetton and, while it might not be anything more than a regular live performance, it does manage to capture some of his musical history by way of tunes from King Crimson, UK and Asia. The Asia track, "Heat Of The Moment," is the best of the bunch here, at least in my opinion. But, the entire concert is a brilliant performance by some exceptionally talented musicians. I mean, sure, there's not much of a stage show. But, that makes you focus more on the music, which comes across rather well. I thought there could've been more in the special features department. As it is, there's an interview with John Wetton, which was way too up close and personal. I don't know who was behind the camera, but, if I was the boss, he would've been fired. Other than that, there's a bio, a discography, some desktop images, a photo gallery and weblinks. The basic stuff, nothing too special. But, like I said, this is a release where the main focus is on the music and the people who decide to check this out will do so because of that. It's a release that's more for the hardcore fan, someone who will sit down to watch this just to hear a good show. |
