By Paul Autry Being a huge fan of Kiss, I was really looking forward to viewing this release and, after viewing it, I must say, I was rather impressed with the way it was put together. Instead of focusing on the larger than life image that came with being a member of Kiss, it's focused on the regular, down to earth person that Eric Carr was. His sense of humor, his willingness to help other people, his natural charm, those are the things that are mentioned the most. I get the impression that this release was put together so that whoever views it will walk away feeling like they knew Eric Carr on a personal level. Also impressive is the fact that this release doesn't focus on the passing of one of rock 'n' roll's greatest drummers. It's not about loss or the void that was left when he passed away. It's more of a celebration of his life and how he lived it and how he touched the people that he met. Some of the people who share their memories of Eric Carr include his parents, his girlfriend, Bruce & Bob Kulick and members of Slaughter. Those interviews are combined with rare footage of Eric backstage, in the dressing room, early home movies. An anti-drug commercial that he did is also included. Plus, there's photo's as well, which is all combined to make a well balanced tribute to Eric Carr, a tribute that does his memory justice. When an entertainer dies, people tend to focus on what was lost. "Inside The Tale Of The Fox: The Eric Carr Story," shows us what we were given and what we were given still remains. Eric's contribution to the world of rock 'n' roll will continue to shine for many years to come. He will never be forgotten and he will live in the hearts of the people who loved him...forever! Even death can't take that away from him. |
