Edgar Winter & Rick Derringer
"In Concert"

By Paul Autry

Well, here we go again. It's another DVD from the "Ohne Filter - Musik Pur" series. It really doesn't matter who the featured artist is because, as I've said before, they're pretty much all the same. But, in case you don't check out any of the other reviews, let me give you the rap once again. The special features include an interview with the producer, an artist biography and a small feature on sound tuning. The concert is just like the other ones I've seen. Good quality, up close and professional and, yes, highly professional. While the other releases I've reviewed were cool, I probably wouldn't rush out to buy them because they don't actually float my particular musical tastes. But, this release kind of grew on me because, after all, we've got Edgar Winter & Rick Derringer on the same stage and you know that's gonna be an experience worth watching. This one's just good, fun, rock 'n' roll performed by two legendary names in the music business. How can you go wrong with tunes like "Hang On Sloopy," "Free Ride," "Rock 'N' Roll Hoochie Coo" and "Frankenstein," which comes at the tail end of their performance. You can't go wrong and that's why I would recommend this release to you. This one is worthy of purchase...depending on what your musical tastes are, of course.
