"In Concert"

Written By: Paul Autry This is a fourteen song release that was recorded on October 15th,
1996 during the "Organic Tour" and it puts Joe Cocker right where
he belongs...center stage, in the spotlight. Joe Cocker has been around
for ages and, in watching this release, one thing is perfectly clear...at
least in 1996, he still had what it takes to be a high quality performer. He
does so with one thing...his voice. There's no way you can deny the man's
vocal talent. This release is pure emotion...Joe Cocker puts every bit of his
heart and soul into each song that he performs. While there's a wealth of
material here to choose from, my personal favorite is "You Are So Beautiful,"
because, for anyone who knows me, I'm a huge fan of John Belushi and, again,
for those of you who are in the know, when Belushi used to do his Joe Cocker
thing, this is one of the songs he used to do. There's not much else on
this DVD except for an interview with the producer and an artist biography.
Normally, that would bother me because you can do so much more with a DVD
and, if you don't add those little extra things, I feel it's somewhat of a
disappointment...especially when you consider what most DVD's cost in this
day and age. But, when it comes to this release, which I feel is one of Joe
Cocker's finest moments, his performance makes it all worth while. It's
absolutely captivating, there's just no other way to say it. If you're a fan,
you need to check this out, there's no question about it.
