SHOCK and AWE!
S.T.U.N. Are Making Their Presence Known

"I like to use a war reference, it's kind of like 'shock and awe.' A lot of times kids are just shocked and like, 'what the hell is going on?' There is a lot of energy and stuff going on when we're on stage." Says front man Christiane J. of his band S.T.U.N. who recently wrapped up their tour with Dredge and prepping for this summers Van's Warped Tour.

If Christiane and his mates aren't grabbing your attention with their brand of socially aware, heavily charged punk rock then their insane, brutal live shows certainly will. On stage these four California punkers will grab you by the collar and psychically shake you up with their intense and highly energized live show and truly deliver the 'shock and awe' that has been all but lost in punk these days.

"When we get up on stage for those 30 minutes, it is the most freeing experience in the world," continues Christiane. "To be truly out of your mind for 30 minutes and to be able to dot hat is so cathartic and so amazing. The high you get afterwards.Man, it's a three hour high and just living in the moment."

Aside from their politically driven brand of rock, S.T.U.N. (an acronym for Scream Toward the Uprising of Non-conformity); have been earning a reputation for their incredible live antics as front man, Christiane J's wild and uncontrolled stage presence has been leaving behind a wake of pandemonium. "I go to a different place when I hear the drums and the guitars and everything, I don't know how to explain it. I got this fire in my belly and it comes out when we go on. It's just such a great thing to hear the crowd and hear our intro and walk on. It's everything I dreamed of and it loves up to the expectations of just being in a band and looking around and seeing the four of us making music in front of a crowd at night. Their girls and theirs boys and it's so romantic and it puts me in this mood where I loose myself..."

Christiane "loosing himself" is an understatement as he wildly wigs out like the Tasmanian Devil to the point where he is actually becomes hazardous to himself and others around him. "I ran in to the bass a few weeks ago and needed ten stitches and I just rammed into my drummer and he cracked a rib," said the singer nonchalantly. He was recalling the recent Chicago show where he literally dove into drummer Bobby Alt's drum kit and head-butted him in the chest causing Alt to tumble off his stool as the entire drum kit crashed on top of them. The snare stand cracked in half as well as other damage to the drum set. Somehow, flat on his back and smothered by the wreckage of his kit, Alt managed to finish the song within a blur of adrenaline, blood and mayhem. "Our shows are just chaotic and awesome and the people just dig it."

Alt needed to go to the hospital where he ingested plenty of pain medication and got much needed rest. He is almost ready to get back behind a new drum kit for the nine-week Warped Tour, which kicks, off this week. The band is psyched to get out to the masses, but who knows what havoc Christiane will wreak next.

S.T.U.N. (who also includes Guitarist Neil Spies & Bassist Nick S) are touring in support of their debut CD; "Evolution of Energy" released by Geffen Records this Tuesday, June 24. "EVOLUTION OF ENERGY" sounds off for a revolution with a Rage Against The Machine meets Janes Addiction feel. Tunes like "Movement," "Here Comes The Underground," and "The Future Is Now" are about rising above conformity and urging people to think outside the box. They are a band speaking out to a new generation of teenaged angst and confusion and trying to make sense of this messed world around them and rinse away the brain washing we've had since we were born. "The overall message is just to think for yourself," says Christiane. "Have conversations with people, learn about things, life to the fullest, life in the moment, don't be afraid of a job holding you down. Just be free."

For now, S.T.U.N. are living free on the road and doing what they love to do best, playing loud rock and roll, venting their social and political views to the masses and raising holy hell. "I'm really living it up right now," says Christaine, "This is all new to me and I'm loving every minute of it."
