Thorium

"Unleashing the Demons"
(Diehard Music)

By Skullcrusher/Angela

Thorium's sophomore effort is a brutal attack, following along the same lines of their debut "Oceans of Blasphemy", hard-hitting Danish death metal, very Deicide-ish, excellent guitars. Spewing upon the scene in '97, Thorium includes members of Withering Surface, Infernal Torment, & Iniquity. There are eleven trax on "Unleashing the Demons", including a Cancer cover "Cancer fuckin' Cancer"-which is a great band to cover. "Nocturnal Prophet of Destruction", "Hateful Vengeance", "Infestation of Salvation" fuckin' kill-Jesper Frost Jensen's drumming is very impressive. "Throne of Infernal Fire" & "Unleashing the Demons", intense guitar work. Cover art is eeevvviiilll-by Jacek Wisniewski. I think the band enjoyed themselves recording "Unleashing the Demons", one of the reasons they choose to record in Slovakia (Exponent Studios) instead of a more 'famous studio' in Norway/Sweden is because the beer is cheaper in Slovakia (haha). John "Johnson" Mortensson's photo's included in the cd inlay-are proof of this-I especially like the photo of them 'mooning'. Overall, another great release from Thorium, every death metal fan should have "Unleashing the Demons"
