Magnum

"Breath of Life"
(SPV)

By Paul Autry

After being on hiatus for over six years, Magnum returns with their eleventh studio album and the name of this release pretty much says it all. I live for this style of music and for me, this really is the "Breath Of Life" and considering the fact that you get well over an hours worth of music...there's nothing you can complain about here. It's melodic rock that's mellow, it's heavy and it's epic. Not all at once, mind you. As you breeze through each track, you'll see what I mean as you get a little bit of everything. It's not too often that I get a release that I can listen to from start to finish without getting bored and when I do get an album like that, it's usually pretty good. But this one...this goes way beyond what I expected to hear. It's absolutely fantastic...you can't go wrong with this one. While I enjoy everything about this album, I'm really drawn to the heavier tunes on this release such as "Cry," "That Holy Touch" and "The Face Of The Enemy." If you're gonna buy one album this year, make sure it's Magnum. You won't be disappointed with this one! http://www.magnumonline.co.uk
