The Wounded |
| By
Martha Hughes
This CD has the feel of Katatonia. It is sorrowful, melodic and dark.
There are differences, however, as I will get into. The singer, Marco
is
one of the biggest differences. His voice sounds like one on the verge
of losing it. It has an edge and tightness as if one has been in pain
and anger for so long that he can hardly contain himself. And, unlike
Katatonia (whom I also love), their songs are not so much of a
surrender
to their sorrow, but more of an angry defiance against it. I can
distinctly hear Anathema within the music. This CD starts out quietly
and due to good song placement, the tone rises and rises, crescendo-ing
at the end. I'm impressed.
