The Erotics
"21st Century S.O.B."
(Fast Lane Records)

By Paul Autry

This is, without a doubt, the best release that I got to review for this month. With a name like The Erotics, you should pretty much know what kind of music to expect here. For those of you without a clue, let me explain. The Erotics are, according to their bio, an abrasive hard rock/gutter glam band. Oh, come on, you know the style. Sleaze, trash, you know those names as well. Think early Guns N' Roses, Faster Pussycat, Guttersluts, early Motely Crue, Teeze, stuff like that. It's loud, it's rude, it's nasty, it's obnoxious and it's a hell of a lot of fun. It's dripping with sex, alcohol and good times. You get the point by now, right? Yeah, well, The Erotics tear through 15 songs in a full throttle party mood and when that last song finally starts to fade from your speakers, it'll leave your CD player smokin' and beggin' for another spin. This is the kind of album that I could listen to over and over and over again...and you don't get tired of it either. Besides the title song, there's some killer stuff on here. "Girls On Drugs," "Slit Your Wrist To This," "Teenage Drag Queen" and "Banged Up." Oh, and you noticed how I mentioned early Motley Crue? Well, you also get a cover of the Crue's "Public Enemy #1" on this release that just smokes. This is everything you could ever want in a rock 'n' roll record and more. Highly recommended and a mandatory purchase for anyone who likes to have a good time! http://www.fastlanerecords.com
