Plank 63
"S/T"
(Flabbin Records)

By Paul Autry

Here's another one of those "middle of the road" albums that I really have to listen to, numerous times, in order to form an honest opinion. It's a good album, something that provides an enjoyable listen. But, it's not something that really grabs me. I've heard it all before. As I sat here going through these seven songs, it was like, okay, this one's cool, that one's cool, this one's okay, that one's okay...I was waiting for the one two punch, something that would really knock me out....and it never came. But, here's the problem. After listening to this release, it's obvious to me that, yes, this band has the potential to pull off that one two punch. Their songs aren't weak and they're consistant. But, they just don't seem to really bust loose. It's like having sex and pulling out before you get the job done. Plank 63 just needed to keep it in a little longer in order to get the job done, it's as simple as that. On the other hand, they've done this album and, like I said, it's good. But, you've done the "good" thing now. If they don't pull out all the punches on their next release, I would be disappointed. http://www.plank63.com
