Dave Evans
"A Hell Of A Night "
(Ecstasy Records)

By Paul Autry

On "A Hell Of A Night," original AC/DC vocalist Dave Evans can be heard doing a few select tunes, eight to be exact, from the band he once fronted. I found this to be a rather interesting release. First of all, you have the original singer for AC/DC doing a tribute to the guy who replaced him in the band and he's doing it with, of all things, an AC/DC tribute band, THUNDERSTRUCK, backing him up. Oh, and did I mention it's a live album? True, Dave doesn't have that unique voice that Bon Scott or even Brian Johnson has, but, that's what makes this album different. This was recorded at a place called Edwards Tavern, which I assume is a small club because this release has a "bar rock" vibe to it, which I found rather enjoyable. http://www.daveevans.com
