Behemoth
"Buford"
(Diaphragm Records)

By Paul Autry

After listening to this six song release, it wasn't too hard to come up with a way to describe what I had just heard. Big, fat, heavy, thick, straight forward, chunk rock. Another term that came to mind, one that I like to toss around every now and then, is bar rock. Now, I know some of you out there might see that term as a bad thing, but, when I use it, I mean it in a very good way. While these songs stick to you like glue, there's no doubt in my mind that they probably come off a hell of a lot better in a live setting. There's certain CD's where you can feel that, you know and I believe this one is giving me that vibe. It's like, okay, here's our CD and when you listen to it, it's gonna kick your ass. But, if you come to see us live, you're gonna leave our show in an ambulance. This is a cool disc, especially when played at max volume. Doesn't quite make it to half an hour, but, what the hell, it's worth picking up anyway. Not too fond of the album title though. But, that doesn't really matter now, does it? Nah, I didn't think so. I'm gonna shut up now...you go check out these tunes. http://www.cringe.com/diaphragm
