Virginia Creeper
"Hot Child In The City "
(Killer Queen Records)

By Paul Autry

I have every reason in the world to bash this release. It only has two songs and one of them is a cover tune, so, it's kind of hard to get a feel for this artist. But, you know what? I thought this was actually pretty good. The cover tune is obviously Nick Gilder's "Hot Child In The City" and I like Virginia Creeper's version better than the original. The other tune, "Crazy Boy," is an original and, for an artist who is fixated on T. Rex, Rick Derringer and The N.Y. Dolls, it's not hard to imagine what V.C. is gonna sound like. Only problem is...two songs. I'd like to hear a full length release so I can see all of what this artist has to offer. That's where it's at. This is some amazing stuff and, hopefully, we'll be able to hear more in the future. Better be soon though because I'm gonna wear this disc out rather quickly. E-mail: virginiacreeper@hotmail.com
