Uranus
"War Father of All "
(2001 self)

By Wayne Klinger

Another Grecian Black Metal band that I'm not familiar with (Varathron is probably the only good Black Metal band I know from these parts) but take on a unique approach to Black Metal with old school/new school with atmosphere and sometimes symphonic ideas. Sort of like letting out the hounds of Hellhammer, Bathory and Mayhem. Only a 3-song sampler here as the actual release is 12 tracks and one of these is a cover of the 60's (I believe) tune "Fire" from Arhur Brown's Crazy World done in the Uranus way and done pretty good almost sounding like their own originally written song. The band also takes their lyrics seriously delving into WWII and human religion beliefs and keeping one's identity as well controlling your own destiny without some sort of "superior" guidance. Not the typical run-of-the-mill Black Metal by far; curiosity alone will have you checking them out. Email: uranusatwar666@hotmail.com
