Sodom
"M-16"
(2001 Steamhammer/SPV)

By Wayne Klinger

Continuing forth with the history of German Thrash, Sodom is one of the other icons that have been in existence quite awhile...21 years! Despite fluctuating releases in the mid-90's and change of personnel, Sodom has solidified quite a line-up the last 4 years and are actually consistent lyrically with the inerest in war and brutality besides the problem with today's social events and world happenings. "M-16" is a researched concept album dealing with the ugly Vietnam War, the victims who died and the ones who have suffered from it. Controversial for the media but definately fabulous for their fans and what the hell, honesty is always the best policy no matter if it is blunt and brutally to the point. Musically? What can I say really? It's definately Sodom and more within the lines of "Persecution Mania" and "Agent Orange". www.spvusa.com
