Another Pennsylvania release is what we have here. Three songs of raw,
aggressive death metal that I couldn't sink my teeth into. When it
comes
to the music, there's some good stuff on here. These guys can play.
But,
as soon as the vocals kick in, that's when I get turned off. Typical
death metal vocals mixed with some black metal style vocals. That's
something I'll never understand. I mean, there's some people out there
who have an aggressive vocal style and I'm not saying it's wrong to
have
that style. But, when you more or less growl like you're trying to keep
a throat full of vomit down, there's just no entertainment there for
me.
Be aggressive, but, touch up the vocals a bit. You know, when I was
thirteen, I went head first through a window and the glass did a
wonderful little number on my vocal chords. I'll be the first to tell
you that I can't sing to save my life. But, I could still do the vocal
style that's found on this release and some of you out there would
actually say it's good. Sorry, it just doesn't cut it for me. You
learned to play and you do that rather well...now learn how to
sing...and that's the key word here...SING!
