Cloud Party
"Real"
(Googoplex Records)

By Paul Autry

Here's an interesting release that shows just how creative a band can be. The album was recorded live during a show that was broadcast over the internet. Now you know why they called the album "Real." Anyway, it's got a great sound quality for those of you who might be wondering about that. This release features nine songs and clocks in around fourty five minutes. As far as musical style goes, well, I would say that it's simply a well written album where the focus is on writing good songs. This is the kind of album that would go over really well on college radio. As an added bonus, you can stick this disc in your computer to check out some of the special features. You can read about how this album was created/recorded, check out some of the pictures or read an interview with Cloud Party's own Jim Speese. All in all, it's a very well balanced album and, if I do say so myself, it's one of the more interesting releases that came out of the Pennsylvania music scene and it's well worth looking into. http://www.cloudparty.com
