Blood for Blood
|
| By
Jonathan Mariante "White trash hardcore rock and roll...FUCK YOU!" That's a lyric from
the
song "Some Kind Of Hate", and frankly I can't think of a better way to
describe this trio of bad ass Bostonians! They play hard as nails, fast
and furious, and sound totally pissed off at the world! I lost count of
the number of four letter words they use on this album! All eleven
songs
go full throttle from start to finish, kicking ass all the way, the
band
playing pure, unrelenting, classic style hardcore (with some punk and
metal flavorings), influenced by the masters like Suicidal Tendencies,
Black Flag, Fear, and The Adolescents. The guys, as I said, bash out
some very aggressive and pissed off sounding music. They attack the
world, society, and just about everything and everybody, and also take
a
stand for the underdogs. Songs like "White Trash Anthem" and "Dead End
Street" are anthems for society's outcasts who never got a fair shake
in
the world. If you feel you are such a person, or are pissed off and
unhappy with the world around you, then Blood For Blood is speaking for
you! Or even if you just want to rock out, and get a slam pit going at
your next party, Blood For Blood is great for that, too! These guys are
also capable musicians who can play well. Singer Erick "Buddha" Medina
is very aggressive and sounds like he wants to be Mike Muir and/or
Henry
Rollins when he grows up! Guitarist "White Trash" Rob Lind really
scorches his fret board at lightning speed! Bassist McFarland and a
mystery drummer make up a tough and tight rhythm section. Blood For
Blood can rock with the best of them! Unfortunately, in the press
release that came with the CD, I read this is to be their last album.
They've decided to call it quits, after only four full length albums.
I don't know why, they seem to be doing quite well, and the world
could certainly use more bands like this. I'm sure they will be missed.
Good luck, guys, in whatever you do from now on. We'll be sad to see
you
go, but your music will doubtlessly always be appreciated.
