The Buddha
|
| By
Wayne Klinger A debut 11-track for this 4-piece out of Massachusetts is somehwhat hard to
review since I keep hearing different elements like Red Hot Chili Peppers
with genres of Doom and Stoner Rock with groove,a little bit of Death Metal
but basically everything is very understandable. Then we come to a couple
songs called "Anahata" and "Nu Kings" that are as nuts as taking King's X and
having them work with the band Down since the songs are somewhat reminiscent
of Down's "Jail" for the melodic part but "Nu Kings" is more uptempo and I
wouldn't use that comaprison for the whole song. They are just so diverse and
if they tend to call themselves "nu-metal", I acually like it compared to the
other crap on the commercial market! The Buddha has more balls musically and
this CD is proof of their capabilities and doing something a bit differently.
On a final note, the CD contains a video for the song "Cut The Ties". www.thebuddhamusic.com Email: majin34@yahoo.com
