Sift
"Sift"
(Independent)

By Paul Autry

Ever hear that old saying that, sometimes, less is more? Well, when I sat down to listen to this four song, self titled disc from Sift, that saying quickly came to mind because I really don't have much to say about this band. The music itself, when hearing it, would say what I would say. It's heavy, aggressive and it has a massive sound to it that's full of power and the excellent production only hardens the impact that these songs will have on you. I will admit, I try not to form a full opinion on a band on the basis of a few songs...and in this case, the number is four. But, these four tunes hit me like a ton of bricks and, yes, they caught my attention. Sift is a praise worthy band, without a doubt. If they can assault your senses with four songs, just imagine what they will do when they unleash a full length album? Like I said...sometimes, less is more and, when it comes to Sift, you get a whole hell of a lot more. http://www.siftinfo.com
