Is there any reason why this band isn't signed on a major label? I don't want to assume it's the bands perogative to remain indie but damn, this sophmore release surpasses the "Victims At Play" nine fold! Shouldn't be much of a surprise with such a line-up including Allen West from Obituary/Six Feet Under fame and 3 original members from the 80's juggernaut, Nasty Savage (Ben Meyer,Curt Beeson and Richard Bateman) along with founder and lead vocalist, Richard Hornberger whom was a roadie in the Death Metal scene before venturing off and wanting to start a totally new thing. "S.V.D." is a totally new chapter of brutal, technical Death Metal with alot of angst and power ranging from a mixture of Slayer, Death, Benediction,Asphyx and Massacre that is more than just a satisfiable 10-track spin. This damn CD moves you or makes you just want to get up and mosh your head off with heavy rhythms and just an overall "F!CK YOU!" attitude. An even more blunt perambulation would be it's either too heavy for your sorry ass or like me, you'll find this to be one of the best indie releases of the year! 'Nuff said! www.crook-drecords.com
