Killer Khan
"Rock & Roll Forever"
(Self)

By Jonathan Mariante

Killer Khan (formerly known as Holy Moses) are a hard rocking band who play straight ahead, no frills, riff oriented metal. They are very influenced by classic 70's and 80's acts like Black Sabbath, Motorhead, and Grim Reaper. Their singer, Killian Khan (who also plays rhythm guitar) actually sounds a bit like Ozzy, and the artwork on the cover of this album reminded me of that on Grim Reaper's albums. This album is actually a re-release. It originally came out in '97 when they were still going under the Holy Moses moniker. "Rock N Roll Forever" is appropriately titled-the album rocks out from start to finish! It's a fist in the air all the way rock and roll album! The opening track, "Kamikaze", is a riff-o-rama, getting the album off to a hard rocking start! The title track, which closes the album, is a kick-ass tune as well, and is a call for all rockers to fight for their music, and a salute to it! The album contains a bunch of fist-pumping rockers, like "Vanishing Point", "Hammer Of The Gods", "Dark Shadows", and "Sanctuary", as well as some more mid-paced, Sabbath influences songs like "British Barbie", "Neither King Nor Kaiser", and "The Hated And The Damned". These guys crank out some cool, rocking tunes, and they can play well, too. Lead guitarist Richard Downs plays some pretty cool solos on all the songs! Killer Khan play classic style hard rock/metal that doesn't futz around! Just straight up, pure rocking from beginning to end, no frills, no gimmicks, no ballads! For all that, I have to give this one two thumbs up! Or should that be four horns up? Whatever, it's a very cool album! If you like your rock hard and straight, and miss the sounds of yesteryear, this is a band to check out!
