Dark Symphonies is extremely proud to announce the re-signing of maudlin of the Well to a brand new double full length CD deal. With the world wide critical acclaim of "My Fruit Psychobells...a seed combustible" it was only natural that Dark Symphonies renew their commitment to MOTW. The members of MOTW will enter the studio immediately to begin recording this new progressive masterpiece of "astral metal." As before, they will incorporate diverse instrumentations and vocals to convey their vision of astral metal to the listener, however, this time there is enough material to span two individual CD releases! The new 2 CD MOTW set will be a conceptual piece tied together by unique atmospheric, instrumental interludes. Stretching the boundaries of extreme metal is one thing; MOTW will redefine them with their new creation of doom metal art. Dark Symphonies is excited to present this musical adventure of astral proportions to the metal community. PREPARE!

OLD BAND COMES WITH NEW NAME AND NEW ATTITUDE PHILADELPHIA, PA (November 28, 2000) - If you've been looking for hard-rocking Bonaparte you won't find them. Because they've changed their name to Generica. But don't fret, the sounds still the same as the band continues to play their edgy music regionally. "Bankruptcy of original ideas has stripped music down pretty far," says Charlie Sassaman, Generica's frontman, "and we're out to explore this." With their insatiable appetite for new and exciting music, audiences have become increasingly hungry for a fresh sound. Sassaman believes that it's perfect timing for the auditory hallucination offered by Generica. Heavily influenced by the dada movement, Generica's work is driven by outrage, fear, and a lust to subvert expectations; creating music not for the masses, but music the masses should hear. Undefined lyrics born out of a stream-of-consciousness embraces a simultaneous structured and improv musical jam. Generica gives a live performance that scores their supplementary video show - delivering a full multimedia extravaganza. The world still affords the possibility of offering release through music and art and Generica does just that. Arriving with its strongest lineup to date, Generica consists of guitarist/wordworker and Philadelphia-area native Charlie Sassaman; woodshedder Jared Fleming, from North Jersey; and watershed bass fisherman Justin Riley from New Hope, PA. The trio began performing its own brand of emotional hardcore and sentimental resistance to the times in 1996
It is with much pride that Hammerheart Records Worldwide welcomes its newest recording artist, CONTROL DENIED. The label debut (band's sophomore release) is now underway in Tampa's Morrisound Studios with producer Jim Morris at the board. Poignantly titled, When Machine and Man Collide, the album's subject matter touches upon the darker and more intrusive nature of today's technology, among other things. Chuck Schuldiner, the metal mastermind we have all come to consider one of the godfathers of heavy metal, naturally resides at the helm of CONTROL DENIED. Contrary to the ever-churning rumor mill, Steve DiGiorgio (bass) and Richard Christy (drums) are still full-time members of CONTROL DENIED. Their participation in other projects has not and will not take away from their involvement in the band. Smoothing out the returning line-up are Shannon Hamm (guitar) and Tim Aymar (vocals). When questioned about the sound and ideology of When Machine and Man Collide, Chuck had this to say: "This album will NOT contain any guest rappers, 7-string guitars, baggy pants or any other elements from so-called "New Metal". CONTROL DENIED is NOT a power metal band and it is NOT a side project. This album will crush those misconceptions completely!

VICTORY RECORDS TURNS FILE SHARING FROM FOE TO A FRIEND. Independent record label Victory Records Inc. feels that it has found a solution to Napster. According to Victory chief Tony Brummel, "As it relates to our repertoire, what we are going to do blows Napster away. With all of its legal and copyright issues and a questionable business model Napster will be forced to redefine itself to survive." Victory has entered into a deal with Maryland technology developer Adrenamail.com to use its proprietary peer-to-peer file sharing software of the same name. The software will allow Victory to set up its own subscription-based file sharing operation, which will go online December 7, 2000. Adrenamail seamlessly combines E-mail for groups, interactive multimedia and file sharing into a unified and powerful service. The software boasts no confusing plug-ins or add-ons but a single, compact system that ensures optimum user satisfaction. Victory Records will be the first record company to attempt a revenue generating subscription based peer-to-peer service. It hopes that its file-sharing model will also dramatically increase sales.
Victory will offer the service for free for the first two months. Unlike Napster, Victory's service will allow its subscriber's access to advanced music streaming technology- people can listen and enjoy Victory's music without downloading it. Users of the service can create, using a built-in proprietary authoring system, interactive presentations, animation, rich text files, graphics and video. Additionally, AdrenaMail enables users to chat, exchange instant messages and directly deliver files to other subscribers of the service. Subscribers will be able to form and moderate their own 'groups' in the community. The tentative name for this interactive community is Planet Victory.
"File sharing is a very sensitive issue. The last thing we want to do is cannibalize our CD sales. For a small monthly or annual fee subscribers can stream our music. The real value of subscribing though, is the opportunity to be part of an interactive, legitimate and exclusive community of like-minded individuals. Some of the key tools in our arsenal include e-mail for groups, very specific chat rooms and instant messaging. It will be like a global, digital country club for the die-hard followers of our Artists. This is a new way for record companies to generate revenue without taking away from the traditional revenue streams. With Artist involvement, an entirely new element is brought to the Artist/Fan paradigm. We will also offer subscriber's special edition merchandise, releases, etc. - this will be a very value added experience. It is an opportunity to take the love of the music to the next level where fans, artists and the label are all winners."
AMEN had a very successful tour through Germany, including completing 4 live shows in Munich, Berlin, Hamburg and Vienna. The highlight of the German tour was AMEN's live TV appearance on The Tobi Schlegl show (1.5 million viewers) on Germany's largest music channel, VIVA. The band performed "The Price of Reality" and "Justified" live, and then completed a 10-minute interview with the host. AMEN's live performance sounded great and was "absolutely blinding", culminating in Casey destroying a microphone stand and the interview was said to be "funny and brilliant". Would we expect anything less from them?! AMEN will receive further German TV coverage from VIVA II, who in addition to filming an interview with the band also filmed the Cologne show.

Former KISS Guitarist Bruce Kulick Partners with Actress/Stuntwoman Kira Tashjian to Launch an Auction Website Targeting Proceeds to Children's Charity http://www.celebritynewsauctions.diz.nu/ Legendary former KISS and current Grand Funk Railroad lead guitarist Bruce Kulick, joins actress/stuntwoman Kira 'Yoshi' Tashjian to form CELEBRITY NEWS AUCTIONS, an Internet auction website and all in the name of charity. With the recent success of Butterfields' KISS auction, and the booming e-commerce Internet bidding website EBAY, Kulick and Tashjian saw a great opportunity to offer celebrity collectables to a mass public and raise money for charity. Items will be offered via EBAY, and portions of the proceeds will go to the ERIC CARR FOUNDATION funding St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. November 24, 2000 marked the 9-year anniversary of KISS drummer Eric Carr's untimely death at age 41 from cancer related complications. Long before his diagnosis with cancer, Carr often donated both his time and money to needy children, including those at St. Jude's Hospital. Collectors can expect a varied selection of one-of-a-kind items to bid on, including a custom-made Ibanez guitar used by Marilyn Manson's JOHN5 on last year's 'Mechanical Animals' tour. In addition, a Jim Kelly (Buffalo Bills #12) autographed football, authentic KISS memorabilia and personal affects donated directly from Kulick's own private collection. Expect to see a KISS 'Asylum' RIAA Certified Gold Album award, vintage KISS guitar picks, touring swag, backstage passes, and other rare items. Additional KISS artifacts donated by friends and fans will include several sets of rare drumsticks taken directly from Carr's own touring case, posters, DVD's, and more. Private merchants have also donated items, but most items will be celebrity owned or related. 'Eric was a very charitable person,' says Kulick, 'and to be involved in a website that will give money to his foundation while having people bid on celebrity collectables is something that I really think he would have enjoyed. It also gives me a great opportunity to empty some of the closets of my own rock trivia for a good cause.' Adds Tashjian, 'we are encouraging celebrities in music, film, sports, TV, animation, even private merchants to get involved with donating items that can be auctioned with Eric's fundraiser in mind. We'll continue to provide a service for celebrities to auction their personal collections without the guilt or pressure of donating some or all of their spoils, but so far, their generosity has been immense!' ULI JON ROTH RELEASES TRANSCENDENTAL SKY GUITAR CEREDIGION, Wales - Guitar virtuoso Uli Jon Roth - inspiration to guitar greats like Eddie Van Halen, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, and countless others - has returned from a 15-year absence to release "Transcendental Sky Guitar," a shining example of Roth's ability to seamlessly blend rock and classical music. "Transcendental Sky Guitar" is a mixture of Roth's own works, and classical compositions (Mozart, Bach, Vivaldi, Mendelssohn, Chopin) and classic, innovative rock songs (Jimi Hendrix), transformed into epic creations. Unlike bands performing one-off shows for which classical scores are written, Roth's approach is to combine the two styles into a melange of to the two styles. "This album is for people who are ready to go on a journey without preconceptions and ideological baggage - it is for people who can feel and think freely without clinging to dogma," said Roth. "It was made to transcend boundaries, but it is not an easy ride for the listener who expects repetitive moods, modes, and structures. This is not entertainment music - it is really only for people who are able to leave their preconceived notions at the doorstep and go on a journey into another person's frame of mind. I needed to get it out of my system and I knew there would be people out there who are able to appreciate it." "Transcendental Sky Guitar" is divided into two CDs. The first is known as "The Phoenix" and consists of structured classical rock concert pieces, while the second, called "The Dragon," is encores and improvisations of freely structured, bluesy music. In all, there are 25 songs, or "voyages for the Sky Guitar" as Roth refers to them. "It is two CDs because the material demanded it," he said. "I wanted to explore new possibilities through the Sky Guitar with a vengeance. I wanted to share this kaleidoscope of emotions with my audience." A purveyor of this genre, Roth joined the Scorpions early on and recorded five albums with the band before parting to begin his own symphonic rock project, Sky of Avalon. In recent years, the guitarist had been on hiatus from performing in favor of further artistic exploration - writing four symphonies, a concerto, exploring music and philosophy, oil painting, and numerous other pursuits. "I'm eccentric, but there are a lot of misconceptions about me," Roth said. "A lot of people don't get what I'm trying to do...but there are also quite a few who do."
