Motorhead"Inferno" If you need to read a review on a Motorhead release to help you figure out if you're gonna buy the disc or not, well, forget it. You're not worthy of listening to this album and your stereo should be immediately destroyed. This ain't no ten cent band we're talking about here. This is Motorhead. "Inferno" is a blistering, twelve song romp through all that's metal. Forget trying to be creative, forget trying to be different, forget trying to be the flavor of the month. All Motorhead cares about is startin' up their engine, kickin' it into gear and rolling over anything that might be stupid enough to try to stand in their way...and just to show you that they're really a nice bunch of guys, they give you a moment to recover from the beating they gave you with a nice little acoustic/blues number called "Whorehouse Blues," which is slapped on at the end of the disc. There's not a weak moment to be heard on the entire release. Not even the acoustic number. Sure, it might be kind of mellow, but, it's got some balls. Every song is a stand out track. But, if I had to pick a few to mention, I would suggest "In The Name Of Tragedy," "Life's A Bitch," "Fight," "Keys To The Kingdom" and "Smiling Like A Killer." Even if those were the only songs on this release, it would be worth checking out. Yeah, it's that good. But, after all, it's Motorhead, what did you expect? Purchase of "Inferno" should be mandatory for anyone who considers themselves a fan of heavy music. Buy it or die! |
