I can't honestly say that I've ever been a fan of Lillian Axe. I knew who they were and I've heard some of their music. I guess you could say that I've casually followed their career. It's not because I don't like them or anything like that. No matter how good your financial situation is, you can't purchase everything that you like. If I could do that, I'd have a lot more than the few thousand CD's that are currently in my collection right now. Anyway, as most of you should know, Lillian Axe had a career that started in the late 80's and well into the 90's and now, here we are in 2002 and the band has a double live album that pretty much covers that rather lengthy career. Since this was the first time, really, that I got to sit down and actually take in the music that this band had/has to offer, I can honestly say that I was impressed. It's rock 'n' roll, plain and simple. Personally, that's the kind of music that I enjoy the most. Something that you can listen to without having to explain what it is. You know the drill...it's this, that or the other thing and blah, blah, blah. Those same old reviews with the same old "metal" sounding words. All those who write, myself included, use them over and over again. Well, this time around, I don't think it's gonna hurt the sale of this album if I use this review to tell you to forget everything you've read and just let the music do the talking here. I mean, okay, this release has a very good sound quality and, being a double album, there's twenty one songs on here for you to check out, which, as I said before, pretty much covers the length of their career. If you're a long time fan of the band, you probably already have this one in your collection. If you're new to what Lillian Axe has to offer, this is the perfect release to introduce yourself to. If you like what you hear, you'll end up checking out some of their previous releases. It's as simple as that. http://www.lillianaxe.com
