Fear Factory"Archetype" The first word out of my mouth is 'WOW!' because I don't ever recall Fear Factory being this good, seriously. I heard them a few years back after meeting Dino, the guitarist, and I guess I always felt sort of lukewarm about the whole thing. Dino recently left the band and was replaced by their own bass player, which in this case (unlike when WASP did it) was a brilliant move. Now with Strapping Young Lad's bassist on board, the overall sound has improved, and the band itself is better than ever. If you're not familiar with them, Fear Factory used to ride the Industrial/Death Metal fence with melodic vocal parts throws in here & there, but this CD is fantastically metallic, and recommended for all who bang their heads. |
