"Unearthed" may be the first time many are hearing of Internal Void, but, they're not newcomers to the scene. Internal Void was formed in 1987 by Adam Heinzman (bass), JD Williams (vocals), Kelly Carmichael (guitar) and Eric Little (drums). Taking diverse influences such as The Groundhogs, St. Vitus, Obsessed, Stray, Captain beyond, Delta Blues...and of course, Black Sabbath, Internal Void recorded their debut album, "Standing On The Sun." (1992) on the infamous Hellhound label. Internal Void quickly established themselves as a force to be reckoned with and shortly hereafter, they embarked on a gruelling US summer tour with doom gods Saint vitus. However, after 1993, things grew quiet. With the departure of Eric Little and arrival of Ronnie Kalimon (Unorthadox, Iron Man) a fresher more solid sound was unearthed. A whopping eight years since their last release, this cult legend is back with a vengance. After receivng a seal of approval from the doom god himself, Wino (Obsessed, Spirit Caravan) and hearing the fruits of some demo tracks, Southern Lord Records contacted the guys about a deal. The result is "Unearthed." a more defined, focused, emotional and balls out heavy offering from the Void! "Unearthed" immediately gives you a feeling of an album destined for classic status. Music that is beyond a passing trend, but rather looked at as a reference point for acts of the future. Email: southernlord@yahoo.com |
