Corpus Christii was born in 1998 from the collaboration of two members of an underground band, Noctu. Formed by Nocturnus Horrendus (bass/guitar/vocals) and Ignis Nox (keyboards/programming), this duo wanted to create the most extreme black metal band in Portugal. In the end of 1998, the band recorded and released the demo "Anno Domini" which included three tracks, "Unholy Black Flame," "Rape, Torture, Death" and "Ave Domini," having recieved good critics. In the begining of 1999, the band recruited a guitar player, Guardiao, for live performances. One of the tracks included on the demo, "Ave Domini," was released in a compilation by a Protuguese Magazine, Promusica. 1999 was also the year that the band decided to record their full length album, with 8 songs and two from their previous demo. In the begining of the year 2000, the band signed with the label So Die Music for two albums, and the first is "Saeculum Domini." The second one will be out in the end of the year and will count with collaboration of Necrobutcher from Mayhem. so.die@mail.pt
