Australian extreme metal three piece Mortification have recently celebrated 10 years of churning out album after album with the recording of a live album. "10 Years Live Not Dead." Recorded late last year in Australia, it covers the full spectrum from all nine studio albums. It also includes a new tune titled "Dead Man Walking," which covers bassist/vocalist Steve Rowe's victory over the deadly cancer Leukemia. The inner sleeve feature's some brutal photo's of Steve during his fight with cancer. Leading the way in Australian metal, Mortification have gained respect in a variety of circles because of their strong stand for positive lyrics & Christian faith. This has opened doors for the band headlining festivals both Christian & secular worldwide. Also opening for bands like Napalm Death, Entombed and even preacher Johnny Lee Clary who was once the imperial wizard for the KKK before becoming a Christian. After 6 U.S. tours, 3 European tours and countless trips through Australia and New Zealand, Mortification will head out on their first world tour in June 2001. Taking on Indonesia, Europe, South Africa, USA & South America after the release of their next album, "The Silver Cord Is Severed."
