The name Illwill is new, but the names of its members are already well-known to fans of heavy music! Guitar hero Andy LaRocque and drummer Snowy Shaw have both played with King Diamond. Bassist Sharlee D'Angelo has performed and recorded with Mercyful Fate and vocalist Jonas af Dahlstrom's credits include Memento Mori. When King Diamond, who sings for both Mercyful Fate and the band which bears his name, decided to front both bands at the same time, the members of his bands were left with some spare time. This spare time resulted in Illwill! Based in a small town outside of Gothenburg, Sweden, Illwill's members share a lot in common: years of shared friendship...cold weather...a love of heavy music...cold weather...years of professional experience...cold weather...anyway, you get the picture! Illwill's debut, "Evilution," features the great musicianship, songwriting, lyrics, and production which fans of King Diamond and Mercyful Fate have grown to expect. However, traces of industrial and hardcore sounds combine together to make this CD one of the freshest sounding "loud rock" debuts in years! Solid musicianship, no doubt!
