The newest members of the Wonderdrug family, Sam Black Church, have long been a cornerstone of the Boston hardcore/metal community. After the release of their first S/T EP (TAANG! 76) in 1993 and their first full-length, "Let In Life" (TAANG! 77) later the same year, SBC took on touring the entire U.S. from Maine to California. While playing with acts as diverse as Korn, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Bad Brains, Motorhead, Clutch, Helmet, Sick Of It All, Type O Negative, Fear Factory, Machine Head, DIO, Orange 9mm, Quicksand, Fugazi and Powerman 5000, SBC developed an underground following of cultlike intensity. Now signing on with producer/label owner Ken Cmar and Wonderdrug Records, BC has recorded the best record of their career and perhaps even the best heavy record of the year. With "The Black Comedy," SBC has risen to a whole new level, musically and lyrically. E-mail: empty666@aol.com or write: Mark Thompson, Box 15608, Boston, MA 02215.
