Hardcore Superstar's career began two years ago when four friends from Gothenburg, Sweden, decided to share their love of music and form a band. In October 1998, the band released "It's Only Rock 'N' Roll" on their own label. The record sold 5,000 copies immediately. After building an impressive live show, the CD quickly gained the attention of Lemmy from Motorhead, who immediately declared Hardcore Superstar the best live act of 1998 as well as best album. In autumn of 1998, Hardcore Superstar went on the road in Scandinavia with Motorhead. p>In the summer of 1999, Hardcore Superstar signed a worldwide deal with Music For Nations. The band lived up to their name, with their debut single, "Someone Special," catapulting into the National Swedish Top 30 and staying there for 10 weeks. It also entered into the VOXPOP chart (Swedish equivalent of "Top Of The Pops") at #2, beating off competition from Britney Spears, The Offspring, Mel C, Limp Bizkit, Megadeth and Silverchair. The single was listed on all shows at national Radio where it entered at #9 on "Tracks." Hardcore Superstar have appeared on almost every live Swedish program there is. Their second single, "Liberation," topped the chart at #1 for two consecutive weeks on VOXPOP, with its video already becoming a contender for a video of the year on the same show. As a result of the European release of "Bad Sneakers & A Pina Colada" and playing over 150 shows this year, Hardcore Superstar have spent the last five months touring solidly. After headlining their first European tour to which they played to over 500 fans per night, the band did not take a break until Christmas. Hardcore Superstars are super duper stars in their homeland, where they play to audiences of over 2,000 a night at regular shows and more than 12,000 per night on the European festival circut. Hardcore Superstar guitarist Silver Silver says, "It's been a short but very intense period, with the police stopping our shows just because we're unlike everybody else in Sweden. Or maybe we're just too loud! But hell, if you're going to kick authority in the teeth you might as well do it with two feet!" This hard working band just continues to strive for success. They have built up an impressive array of acts that they have played with which include Machine head, Skunk Anansie, Mel C, All Saints and Point Break! Having sold in excess of 60,000 copies of "Bad Sneakers & A Pina Colada" worldwide, Hardcore Superstar is a band that takes the best out of two worlds and blends them together. http://www.music-for-nations.co.uk
